GEOFOAM, as manufactured by Beaver Plastics, is closed cell expanded polystyrene products used in geotechnical applications, such as:

• Reducing the weight of earth structures to prevent subsidence due to poor load-bearing sub grades

• Rehabilitation of failed slopes and side hills

• Reducing the weight on below-grade concrete structures by substituting EPS for typical fill materials

• Reducing earth pressures in compacted soils through controlled yielding about/around an inclusion

• Reducing stresses from freezing/expanding soils against or under concrete structures

Geofoam is available in a wide range of densities and configurations to suit specific project requirements. It must be noted that typical stated compression test results do not provide adequate performance data for most geotechnical applications. Beaver's GEOFOAM meets ASTM D-6817-02 Standard Specification for Rigid Polystyrene Geofoam. Beaver is registered by the International Standards Organization under the ISO 9001-2000 Quality Assurance Program .
